And then you're out there.

MKP, Public skate has as much potential for territorial drama as practice ice, which I think is funny. Our area has a ton of outdoor ice rinks that the hockey folk take over, so that's nice. (For them.) They can race and spray all they like there.

Babbette, I don't understand why parents think it's okay to go out bare legged on ice. Confounds me!

Jjane, mwuah! Merry Sparklemas to you, too!Skate Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14099319126365762647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-952069064670643819.post-46996534733401803732011-12-26T06:02:32.437-06:002011-12-26T06:02:32.437-06:00http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-16318663

Don't skate the wrong way. Don't skate across the middle. And hockey dads - please don't stand there telling your little darlings to do races from the end to the hockey line and back when everyone else is going round and round the rink. It's stupid and dangerous. And the fact they can go really (!!!) fast and stop and spray up lots of ice doesn't impress me at all!MKPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12461664247097671331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-952069064670643819.post-11130284318872411752011-12-22T19:16:24.421-06:002011-12-22T19:16:24.421-06:00I've seen tween girls in their figure skating ...I've seen tween girls in their figure skating dresses wearing regular pantyhose. The thigh lines show and everything. Lately I've come to realize that their mothers never wore pantyhose (since they fell out of fashion in the 80s), and have no clue. They just buy something at the store and hand it over to their daughter.

When I see someone on the ice with a camera, I offer to take the picture for them so they have a family shot. I figure I'm a safer photographer than they are and they can then go on and skate.Babbette Duboisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05721808053479678691noreply@blogger.com
